Abstract:
An optical element (10) comprises: a first substrate (11) and a second substrate (12), which are disposed facing each other; a liquid crystal component (13) packed between the first substrate (11) and the second substrate (12); first electrodes (18) and second electrodes (19) that are provided on the second substrate (12) side of the first substrate (11); and a first alignment layer (14) that is provided on the second substrate (12) side of the first substrate (11) and that controls the alignment of liquid crystal molecules in the liquid crystal component (13). An interface between the liquid crystal component (13) and the first alignment layer (14) forms a non-glide weak-anchoring interface (17).
