Abstract:
This optical element comprises a substrate and a reflection preventing film that is disposed directly or indirectly on the substrate, and that includes at least a first layer, a second layer, and a third layer in this order from the substrate side. The first layer contains a first cured substance which resulted from curing of a first composition, the second layer contains a second cured substance that resulted from curing of a second composition, and the third layer contains inorganic material particles. The optical element satisfies ns ≥ n1 ≥ n2 ≥ n3, and 1.05 ≤ n3 ≤ 1.25, where ns, n1, n2, and n3 are the refractive indexes of the substrate, the first layer, the second layer, and the third layer, respectively, with respect to the d-line.
