Abstract:
The present invention provides an optical fiber array, which is able to be easily produced in a short time, while exhibiting excellent productivity. An optical fiber array according to one embodiment of the present invention is provided with an optical fiber and a supporting member that supports the optical fiber. The supporting member is formed from a mixed material composed of a base material that contains at least one of a thermoplastic resin and a thermosetting resin, and a solid material formed from a material that is different from the base material. In cases where the supporting member has a thickness of 3 mm, the supporting member has a light transmittance of 30% or more at at least one wavelength within an ultraviolet wavelength range from 300 nm to 450 nm (inclusive). In addition, in cases where the supporting member has a thickness of 3 mm, the supporting member has an average light transmittance of 70% or less for wavelengths within a visible light wavelength range from 380 nm to 780 nm (inclusive).
