Abstract:
An optical fiber cable comprising an optical fiber and at least two or more covering layers, including an inner covering layer and an outer covering layer, the covering layers being formed concentrically in the stated order on the outer circumference of the optical fiber, wherein: the material constituting the inner covering layer is configured from a resin material having an oxygen permeability of 2.0 cc ∙ 20 μm/(m2 ∙ day ∙ atm) or less; the material constituting the outer covering layer includes at least one selected from polyolefin resins, polybutylene terephthalate resins, and fluororesins free of chlorine atoms in the structure; and the optical fiber cable satisfies general formulas (i) and (ii), where A (μm) is the outer diameter of the optical fiber, B (μm) is the outer diameter of the optical fiber cable, and c (μm) is the thickness of the outer covering layer. Formula (i): 900 ≤ A ≤ 1100
Formula (ii): 0.40 ≤ 2 × c/(B - A) ≤ 0.70
