Abstract:
An optical fiber (10) comprises a core (11), and cladding (12) which envelopes the outer circumference of the core (11). Depression parts (14) which are formed continuously in the circumference direction of the optical fiber (10) are disposed in the cladding (12). The cladding (12) in the depression parts (14) has large diameter parts having a first thickness (D1) in the diameter direction of the optical fiber (10), and small diameter parts having a second thickness (D2) which is smaller than the first thickness (D1) in the diameter direction. A plurality of the large diameter parts are disposed in the axial direction of the optical fiber (10), and the plurality of the large diameter parts are disposed on lines approximately parallel to the axis direction of the optical fiber (10).
