An optical fiber component for connection with optical fibers wired on a substrate in a pattern as predesigned. This component is covered with a protection sheath (11) from inside an optical fiber wiring board main body (12) to a protruding fiber part to protect a fiber section protruding out of the optical fiber wiring board main body, and to disperse the stress on the root of the protruding fiber section. An optical fiber (13) on the substrate and a part of the protection sheath are covered with a flexible film (17), and one or both of the film and the substrate are fixed to the protection sheath with an adhesive (14). An alternative is an embedding structure wherein a part of the optical fiber on the substrate and a part of the protection sheath are coated with a polymer resin.
