Abstract:

[Problem] To provide an optical fiber connecting tool whereby the work of releasing retention of an optical connector and extracting an insertion member from between elements of a clamp part can be performed by a series of operations. [Solution] An optical fiber connecting tool for opening and closing a gap of a clamp part with respect to an optical connector provided with a ferrule into which an optical fiber is inserted and fixed and a clamp part for fixing a connection state of the optical fiber and a separate optical fiber, thereby making it possible to insert and remove the separate optical fiber into and from the optical connector, wherein the optical fiber connecting tool is provided with: an insertion part having an insertion piece inserted in a gap of the clamp part; and an arm for retaining the optical connector, the arm having an locking part at a distal end thereof; a sliding surface for causing the optical connector in which locking by the locking part is released to slide, and a connecting surface for pressing against the insertion part and thereby extracting the insertion piece from the clamp part on an opposite side from the sliding direction of the optical connector being formed on the arm.
