Abstract:
This optical fiber core 10 having identification marks has: an optical transmission body (illustrated herein as glass fiber 13) that includes a core part and a clad part; a primary resin layer 14 that clads the optical transmission body; and a secondary resin layer 15 that clads the primary resin layer 14, wherein the secondary resin layer 15 has disposed on the surface thereof identification marks 11 (illustrated herein as continual identification marks 12) that are disposed, for optical fiber identification purposes, at a prescribed interval along the axial direction of the optical transmission body. The optical transmission body has an effective cross-section area of at least 90 μm2 at a wavelength of 1550 nm. The prescribed interval is 100-500 mm. The primary resin layer 14 has a Young's modulus of at most 0.9 MPa.
