Abstract:
An optical fiber core housed in an optical fiber cable, in particular, an optical
fiber core that suppresses an increase of optical fiber transmission loss attributed
to the use environment and aged deterioration through suiting of the optical
fiber coating resin and coloring resin. It is intended to provide an optical fiber
core, or optical fiber tape core, which avoids any increase of transmission loss
attributed to the use environment and aged deterioration, especially exposure
to water or high humidity. There is provided an optical fiber core with a cladding
of at least two layers of coating resins, wherein the coating resin disposed in
the outermost layer is a colored layer of coloring resin, and wherein when the
optical fiber core is immersed in water heated at 60°C for 168 hr, the ratio
of coating resin leached from the optical fiber core is regulated so as to be 1.5
mass% or less.
