Abstract:

An optical fiber cutter which allows the circular blade to be efficiently used without burden to the worker. An optical fiber cutter is provided with a cutter body, and a slider is supported by the cutter body so as to be movable in the front-rear direction. A circular, disc-shaped blade for scribing an optical fiber is rotatably attached to the slider. A columnar protrusion is raised from the base of the cutter body. An engagement member engaging with a gear which rotates integrally with the circular blade is attached to the upper end of the columnar protrusion. An engagement member engaging with the slider is connected to the columnar protrusion through a spring. First to third recesses with which the engagement member is engaged are formed in the base. The rotational angle of the circular blade is switched to three stages depending on the position of engagement of the engagement member.
