Abstract:
This optical fiber fusion splicing device fuses and splices at least a pair of optical fibers. The optical fiber fusion splicing device is provided with: a pair of electrode bar units, leading end portions of which are disposed facing each other by having therebetween optical fiber regions abutting each other; and a pair of disposition tables that support the electrode bar units, respectively. Each of the electrode bar units is provided with: an electrode bar that fuses and splices the optical fibers by means of discharge heating; and a main heat dissipating member that is provided on the outer circumferential surface of the electrode bar by protruding therefrom. Each of the disposition tables supports the electrode bar at a position further toward the base end side than the leading end portion of the electrode bar. The main heat dissipating member is provided between the leading end portion of the electrode bar and the position at which the disposition table supports the electrode bar, said main heat dissipating member being in contact with the outer circumferential surface of the electrode bar in the circumferential direction.
