Abstract:
The glass eccentricity measurement device according to the present invention: comprises an irradiation unit for irradiating with light a side surface of a coated glass fiber obtained by coating a linear piece of glass, and a light-receiving part for receiving light that has been scattered and/or refracted following irradiation of the side surface of the coated glass fiber therewith; and measures the eccentricity of the glass in the coated glass fiber on the basis of the pattern of light and dark in the light received by the light-receiving part. The device comprises at least three sets of irradiation units and screens around the coated glass fiber, the sets being disposed at directions yielding different angles on a circumference centered on the coated glass fiber.
