Abstract:
The optical fiber guide structure is provided with a guide member (10) that is provided to stand on the connection end face of an optical waveguide device (7) and forms a space for accommodating the tip end of an optical fiber (60) connected to the optical waveguide device. The guide member (10) comprises a photocurable resin. The diameter of an inscribed circle in contact with the inner wall of the guide member that forms the space is substantially the same as the outer diameter of the optical fiber in a plane perpendicular to the direction in which the optical fiber is inserted into the space. The center of the inscribed circle matches the center of the core exposed on the connection end face of the optical waveguide device when viewed from the direction in which the optical fiber is inserted. This allows for a simpler and smaller optical fiber guide structure, thereby simplifying optical connection between an optical waveguide device and an optical fiber.
