Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide an optical fiber lateral output device that has a high degree of versatility and that is able to handle various types of optical fiber cores. This optical fiber input/output device is characterized by comprising: a first jig 11 having a recess 22 and a light input/output means 51; a second jig 12 having a protrusion 23 and a guide groove 24; and a pressing section 14 that applies pressure in a direction where the recess 22 of the first jig 11 approaches the protrusion 23 of the second jig 12, thereby forming a bend in an optical fiber core 100. The optical fiber input/output device is also characterized in that, where the curvature radius of the recess 22 of the first jig 11 is R1, the central angle of the recess is θ1, the curvature radius of the protrusion 23 of the second jig 12 is R2, and the central angle of the protrusion is θ2, R2≤R1 and θ2≤θ1 are satisfied.
