Abstract:

The present invention provides a packaging type for optical fibers having at least one end. The optical fiber is housed and packaged in a package having: a holding section that holds the optical fiber in a wound state; and a removal section having part thereof that gets deformed or removed. In this packaging type, the package: can house single optical fibers having a prescribed length and having both ends; and can also house optical fibers having one end thereof connected to an optical circuit such as an optical module, etc., to a connector etc. Optical fibers housed in the package can be a single strand or can be a plurality of strands of optical fiber. An optical connector can be connected to an end of the housed optical fiber. A connector having a plurality of optical fibers lined up in an array can be connected to the end thereof.
