Abstract:
The optical fiber polishing apparatus of the present invention is equipped with: a base (11) having a flat mounting surface (11a); a polishing board support member (12) which is mounted on this base (11); a polishing board (13) which is placed on the polishing board support member (1) in such a manner as to be able to move in a direction parallel to the mounting surface (11a), and which has a polishing surface that is parallel to the mounting surface (11a); a polishing board rotating means (14) which is positioned above the mounting surface (11a) and which rotates the polishing board (13) around an axis perpendicular to the mounting surface (11a); a slider (16) which is capable of moving along the guide member (15) which is fixed to the mounting surface (11a), a slider driving means (17) which is positioned above the mounting surface (11a) and which moves the slider in a reciprocating manner along the guide surface (15a); and a fiber holder (18) which is connected to the slider (16), and which comprises fiber holders (62) which can detachably hold optical connectors (19), arranged at a predetermined interval.
