Title:
OPTICAL FIBER SENSOR, SEISMIC PROSPECTING METHOD, METHOD FOR MEASURING DISTRIBUTION OF PETROLEUM/NATURAL GAS RESERVOIR LAYER, STRAIN DETECTION METHOD, AND METHOD FOR SPECIFYING POSITION OF FISSURE IN STRATUM
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2016/021689
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Disclosed is an optical fiber sensor comprising: a transmission unit that outputs, into an optical fiber being measured, two beams of light that have different wavelengths from one another at the same time instant, the wavelength of one or both of which changes temporally; and a measurement unit that receives backscattering light output from the optical fiber being measured, and that measures the state of interference between the two beams of light, wherein, by measuring the state of interference between the two beams of light, the measurement unit detects temporal changes in optical phase within a discretionary section in the longitudinal direction of the optical fiber being measured. Thus, it is possible to provide: an optical fiber sensor capable of detecting an acoustic wave with high distance resolution; a seismic prospecting method using the same; a method for measuring the distribution of a petroleum/natural gas reservoir layer; a strain detection method; and a method for specifying the position of a fissure in a stratum.
