Abstract:
In the present invention, optical fibers (Fp, Fn) provided on an optical transmission line (F) are dual-mode optical fibers that propagate LP01 and LP11 mode components included in an optical signal, wherein the slope (dΔτ/dλ) of the mode dispersion (Δτ) to the wavelength (λ) is less than or equal to |0.5|ps/km/nm for the 1530 nm to 1625 nm wavelength band. The signs of the mode dispersion (Δτ) for the optical fibers (Fp, Fn) are inverse of each other. The optical transmission line is able to sufficiently compensate for mode dispersion across a wide wavelength band.
