Abstract:
This optical fiber is provided with: a glass fiber which comprises a core and a cladding; and a coating resin layer that covers the glass fiber. The coating resin layer comprises: a primary resin layer that is in contact with the glass fiber and covers the glass fiber; and a secondary resin layer that covers the outer periphery of the primary resin layer. The Young's modulus of the primary resin layer at 23°C is 0.4 MPa or less; the outer diameter of the primary resin layer is from 185 μm to 202 μm (inclusive); the glass transition temperature of the secondary resin layer is from 60°C to 95°C (inclusive); and the difference between the average linear expansion coefficient of the coating resin layer of the range from 60°C to 140°C and the average linear expansion coefficient of the coating resin layer of the range from -60°C to 0°C is 0.7 × 10-4/°C or less.
