Abstract:

Disclosed is an optical fiber (100), sequentially including, from a core layer to an outer layer, a quartz core layer (101), a quartz cladding layer (102), a primary coating layer (103) formed from a first polyimide coating with a viscosity of 5000-8000 cps, and a secondary coating (104) formed from a second polyimide coating with a viscosity of 6000-7000 cps. The temperature resistance grade of the optical fiber (100) is 300-350ºC. The optical fiber (100) has two polyimide coating layers. By controlling the viscosity of a polyimide and designing the material, the optical fiber (100) not only has the high temperature resistance of a polyimide material, but also has a lower attenuation and better mechanical performance. The optical fiber (100), which is capable of resisting a high temperature of 300-350ºC, is produced. The optical fiber (100) has an attenuation of ≤0.8 dB/km at 1310 nm, and an attenuation of ≤0.6 dB/km at 1550 nm. The optical fiber (100) has a screening strength of higher than 100 kpsi, thus being suitable for use in harsh environments, is resistant to corrosion, has a high reliability, and can also be used on the seabed.
