Abstract:
[PROBLEM] To enable a longer measuring distance when measuring with an OTDR. [SOLUTION] The present invention comprises: a light source unit for generating a probe light beam; a light detection unit for detecting a reflected light beam reflected by an optical fibre; and an optical path switchover unit equipped with first to fourth input/output terminals, amongst which the probe light beam is input to the first input/output terminal, and the second input/output terminal is terminated. The optical path switchover unit is capable of assuming: a first state in which the first input/output terminal and the third input/output terminal are connected, and the second input/output terminal and the fourth input/output terminal are connected; and a second state in which the first input/output terminal and the fourth input/output terminal are connected, and the second input/output terminal and the third input/output terminal are connected.
