Abstract:
An optical film according to the present invention comprises a first film base material and an optical diffusion layer formed on the first film base material. The optical diffusion layer contains a binder resin and light diffusion particles. At least ten percent (10%) of the number of light diffusion particles is such that a portion of each of those light diffusion particles projects from its peripheral areas where none of the light diffusion particles are present to thereby form an irregular structure on the surface of the optical diffusion layer. Ninety percent (90%) or greater of the number of light diffusion particles with projection portions are disposed with the projection portions covered with the binder resin.
