Abstract:
Provided are an optical film having at least two circular polarization reflecting layers and a first phase difference layer, at least one circular polarization reflecting layer being arranged on each side of the first phase difference layer, wherein the center wavelengths of the reflection regions of the circular polarization reflecting layers arranged on each side of the first phase difference layer respectively differ, and when light impinging on the optical film from one surface passes through the first phase difference layer and the circular polarization reflecting layers and exits from the other surface of the optical film, the circular polarization reflecting layer that is situated closest from the light-exiting surface of the optical film is not the circular polarization reflecting layer which has the shortest reflection region center wavelength among the circular polarization reflecting layers, and the first phase difference layer is a positive C-plate, the optical film providing improved diagonal color shift when incorporated into a liquid crystal display device; an illumination device; and an image display device.
