Abstract:
An objective of the present invention is to provide an optical film which has excellent adhesion between a polymer support and an optical alignment film, and in which a liquid crystal compound having reverse wavelength dispersion properties is uniformly oriented. Another objective of the present invention is to provide a polarizing plate using the optical film, and an image display device using the optical film or the polarizing plate. This optical film is formed by laminating a polymer support comprising an additive, an optical alignment film, and an optically anisotropic film in said order, wherein the optically anisotropic film is formed from a polymerizable liquid crystal composition comprising a polymerizable liquid crystal compound having reverse wavelength dispersion properties, and the content, in the boundary region between the optical alignment film and the optically anisotropic film, of components derived from the additive in the polymer support is 0.10-0.50 mass% with respect to the total mass of the optical alignment film.
