Abstract:
Provided is an optical film that has a heat resistance of at least 120°C, a tear strength of at least 1.5 N/mm, and a moisture vapor transmission rate of at most 50 g/m2∙day, wherein the absolute values |Re| and |Rth| of the ratio of the in-plane retardation Re and the thickness-direction retardation Rth do not exceed 1 nm. Further provided is a polarizing plate equipped with the optical film. The optical film preferably includes a polymer that contains a block A, which has an aromatic vinyl compound hydride unit (a), and a copolymer block B, which has the aromatic vinyl compound hydride unit (a) and a diene compound hydride unit (b).
