Abstract:
Disclosed are: an optical film in which the deterioration of a diimonium compound contained in an adhesive layer therein can be prevented; and a process for producing the optical film. The optical film is characterized by comprising a base film and an adhesive layer which is formed on the base film and has a massive material dispersed therein, wherein the massive material contains a diimonium compound represented by formula (1) and has a melting point of 200˚C or higher. (R1 to R8 independently represent an unsubstituted or substituted aliphatic hydrocarbon group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms and may be the same as or different from one another, wherein 4.9 to 8 groups among R1 to R8 independently represent an aliphatic hydrocarbon group having 1 to 3 carbon atoms (wherein some of hydrogen atoms in the aliphatic hydrocarbon group may be substituted by halogen atoms); X- represents (R9SO2)3C-; and R9 represents an unsubstituted or halogen-atom-substituted aliphatic hydrocarbon group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms.)
