Abstract:
An optical filter is provided with an absorbing layer containing a near-infrared ray absorbing pigment the absorption characteristics of which in dichloromethane satisfy the following conditions: - An absorption spectrum of 400 nm - 800 nm contains a maximum absorption wavelength λmax between 670 nm and 730 nm. - The maximum extinction coefficient εA for light of wavelength 430 nm - 550 nm, and the maximum extinction coefficient εB for light of wavelength 670 nm - 730 nm have the following relationship: εB / εA ≥ 65 - In a spectral transmittance curve, the difference is 65 nm or less between the maximum absorption wavelength λmax, and the wavelength λ80 the transmittance of which is 80 % in the wavelengths shorter than the maximum absorption wavelength in the case where the transmittance in the maximum absorption wavelength λmax is 10 %.
