Abstract:
Provided is optical glass with a high refractive index, low density, and good manufacturability. The optical glass is characterized in that the refraction index (nd) is 1.71–2.00, the density is 5.0 g/cm3 or less, the temperature at which the viscosity of the glass is logη = 2 is 750–1200°C, the devitrification temperature is 1300°C or below, and, in mol% notation with an oxide reference, the glass contains 0–21.5% TiO2. This optical glass has a high refractive index, low density, and good manufacturability and is suitable for use in optical components such as wearable devices, vehicle-mounted components, robot-mounted components, and the like.
