Abstract:
In the present invention, when controlling the amplitude of a driving voltage, a superimposing unit (13) superimposes a dither signal on a reference DC bias voltage and outputs the same to an MZ modulator (2) as a bias voltage. When controlling the amplitude of a driving voltage to the MZ modulator (2), an amplitude setting unit (30) acquires, by changing the amplitude of the output voltage from an amplification unit (6), a plurality of output curve amplitudes from a synchronous detection unit (12) that are acquired by changing the reference DC bias voltage output from a bias control unit (9), and establishes an amplification rate for the amplification unit (6) on the basis of the amplitude of the output voltage from the amplification unit (6) corresponding to the amplitude that satisfies a prescribed condition among the plurality of output curve amplitudes from the synchronous detection unit (12).
