Abstract:
An optical module (1) has a flat waveguide (2). On this flat waveguide (2), there are arranged an optical circuit (3) for an optical switch formed by 2 × 2 cross optical waveguides A1 to D1 and an optical circuit (4) for an optical variable attenuator formed by 2 × 2 cross optical waveguides A2 to D2. On the flat waveguide (2), an actuator structure (5) is attached. This actuator structure (5) includes an actuator section (6) for the optical switch and an actuator section (7) for the optical variable attenuator. The optical circuit (3) of the flat waveguide (2) and the actuator section (6) constitute the optical switch (8) while the optical circuit (4) of the flat waveguide (2) and the actuator section (7) constitute the optical variable attenuator (9).
