Abstract:
An optical module 1 comprises: N (N = 2) light-emitting elements 10A, 10B; N optical fibers 30A, 30B for transmitting each optical signal output from the light-emitting elements 10A, 10B; a wiring board 20 having a first main surface 20SA whereon the N light-emitting elements 10A, 10B are mounted; and a ferrule 40 provided on a second main surface 20SB of the wiring board 20, having N through holes 40H1, 40H2 into which each of the N optical fibers 30A, 30B is inserted, and having grip portions 40S1, 40S2 on the lateral surface. The grip portions 40S1, 40S2 are arranged at rotationally symmetrical positions with a first through hole 40H1 of the N through holes as the center axis.
