Provided is an optical module, wherein leaking light from a plurality of optical elements on the same substrate is made to be less liable to affect adjacent optical elements, and crosstalk noise is made possible to be greatly reduced. The optical module is provided with inner waveguides (16) inside a plurality of first slots (1a) of a substrate (1), mirror sections (15), and optical elements (12a, 12b). The plurality of first slots (1a) of the substrate (1) are formed to be approximately parallel in a state independent of each other, and adjacent first slots (1a-1, 1a-2) are made to have different lengths (L1, L2) from an end face of the substrate (1). The optical elements (12a, 12b) are mounted on the surface of the substrate (1) so as to face the mirror sections (15) formed on each of the front end sections of the first slots (1a-1, 1a-2) having different lengths.
