Title:
OPTICAL MODULE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2021/002402
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
This optical module is provided with: a first optical branching element which branches signal light including a first polarization component and a second polarization component that have polarization directions orthogonal to each other into the first polarization component and the second polarization component; a first element which has a first inlet and to which the first polarization component is inputted from the first inlet; a second element which has a second inlet and to which the second polarization component is inputted from the second inlet; a first condensing part which is disposed between the first optical branching element and the first inlet, and condenses the first polarization component toward the first inlet; and a second condensing part which is disposed between the first optical branching element and the second inlet, and condenses the second polarization component toward the second inlet. The optical path length of the first polarization component from the first optical branching element to the first condensing part is larger than the optical path length of the second polarization component from the first optical branching element to the second condensing part, and the average refractive index in the optical axis direction of the second condensing part is larger than the average refractive index in the optical axis direction of the first condensing part.
