Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide an optical network system having high electric power efficiency, a method for operating the same, and an optical line terminal capable of implementing the same. The present invention relates to an optical network system 301 which is a bus-wired optical network system characterized by comprising: an optical line terminal 11a for transmitting an optical signal Ls; an optical multiplexer/demultiplexer circuit 12 for inputting some of the optical signal Ls into an optical bus core line 50; and a photoelectric conversion unit 13 for converting the other of the optical signal Ls into electric power. The optical network system 301 reutilizes the electric power that has been wasted at an optical fiber coupler port Tf, thus effectively utilizing electric power.
