Abstract:
An optical parametric oscillator comprises a fundamental-frequency ultra-short pulse laser (1) and a fundamental-frequency regenerative amplifier (2). An optical parametric oscillation cavity is configured in a regeneration cavity of the fundamental-frequency regenerative amplifier (2) by means of a dichroic mirror. As long as an optical path length of a round trip of frequency-converted ultra-short pulse laser light in the optical parametric oscillation cavity is equal to an optical path length of a round trip of fundamental-frequency ultra-short pulse laser light in the fundamental-frequency regenerative amplifier (2), or the optical path length of the round trip of frequency-converted ultra-short pulse laser light in the optical parametric oscillation cavity is a submultiple of the optical path length of the round trip of fundamental-frequency ultra-short pulse laser light in the fundamental-frequency regenerative amplifier (2), a condition for pump synchronization is met regardless of the repetition frequency of the fundamental-frequency optical regenerative amplifier (2), thereby achieving a high-energy ultra-short pulse optical parametric oscillation output.
