Abstract:
Provided is an optical pickup device equipped with a housing on which a guide engaging section is properly injection molded, and a production method for the same. This optical pickup device (10) is equipped with the housing (12) having a guide hole (14) and an engaging section (16) at either end and, among other elements, optical components such as an LD holder (34) stored in a storage section of the housing (12), wherein part of the outer peripheral surface of the engaging section (16) is recessed on the inner peripheral side, forming a concave area (16E). Consequently, it is possible to favorably injection mold the engaging section (16), given that a fluid-state resinous material flows favorably along the concave area (16E) in a resin molding step.
