Abstract:
A disk player provided with an optical pickup having a plurality of objective lenses to write and read information signals on and from an optical disk. The optical pickup is adaptable to one of optical disks having transparent substrates of different thicknesses. To reliably detect tracking error signals irrespective of the type of the objective lens, a biaxial actuator (3) which supports the objective lens (5) moved along a straight line not aligned with the center axis (C) of a spindle motor (17) is inclined to the axis of a guide shaft (18) at a prescribed angle , and the moving direction of the lens (5) is made to approach the direction perpendicular to the recording tracks of the optical disks rotated by the spindle motor (17).
