Abstract:
Provided is an optical pickup lens wherein an orbicular zone structure provided for preventing aberration deterioration due to a wavelength variation or a temperature change can be formed with higher accuracy. A plastic optical pickup objective lens (14) for focusing a light flux coming out of a laser light source (11) on an optical disc such as a Blu-ray disc, comprises an orbicular zone structure comprising a plurality of orbicular zones on both surfaces which are a lens surface (R1 surface) (101) on the laser light source (11) side and a lens surface (R2 surface) (102) on the optical disc side, wherein the lens surfaces are divided by steps into a plurality of concentric orbicular zones (103), connecting regions (104) are provided between the respective orbicular zones, and the plurality of steps are configured so as to have step heights which cause the input light flux to generate such phase differences as reducing the aberration produced in the optical pickup objective lens (14) when the ambient temperature changes, and to satisfy NA ≥ 0.8 and 1.0 ≤ f ≤ 1.8 wherein NA represents a numerical aperture of the optical pickup objective lens (14) and f (mm) represents a focal length.
