Abstract:
In an optical receiver designed to handle a plurality of signal channels, variations will arise between the plurality of signal channels with respect to the photosensitivity of the photoelectric converting units, making adequate reception difficult; thus, the optical receiver according to the present invention has an optical processing circuit that processes an input signal light and outputs a plurality of output signal lights, and a plurality of photoelectric converting units that receive the plurality of output signal lights and output electric signals. Each photoelectric converting unit is equipped with an avalanche photodiode capable of controlling the multiplication factor of the output current of the electric signal by means of an applied voltage, and the avalanche photodiode is operated with a driving voltage such that the output current for each of the plurality of photoelectric converting units is substantially the same.
