Abstract:
An optical receiving engine based on a planar waveguide chip, relating to the technical field of optical communications. The optical receiving engine based on a planar waveguide chip comprises an array waveguide chip (1) used for receiving an optical signal sent by an optical fiber, an output waveguide of the array waveguide chip (1) having a multi-mode waveguide structure, light being incident to the array waveguide chip (1) and then being output through the output waveguide, and the light having different wavelengths corresponding to different mode field distributions of the output waveguide; a detector (2) coupled with the array waveguide chip (1), a photosensitive area of the detector (2) being determined based on a mode field distribution range of the output waveguide; and an amplifier connected to the detector (2). The problem in the prior art of low coupling efficiency between an array waveguide chip (1) and a detector (2) can be solved. Optimizing the photosensitive area of the detector (2) can enable the photosensitive area to match a spot mode field of the waveguide chip, thereby improving the coupling efficiency.
