Abstract:
An optical recording medium comprising a substrate (1) having provided thereon a recording layer (2) composed of a dye or its composition, which enables writing and reading using light such as a laser. The recording layer (2) has a surface layer (3) comprising a coating film of colloid particle dispersion of a silicon condensate. This medium possesses an improved writing sensitivity and read output.
