Abstract:

A projector comprising a polarizer having improved light-resistance and heat-resistance and capable of stably displaying a high-contrast bright image. The projector has a light source, an electro-optic element for modulating light from a light source, two polarizes disposed on both input and output sides of the electro-optic element, and a projection optical system for projecting light from the electro-optic element. At least one of the polairzers is a structural birefringent polairzer.
