Abstract:
Optical sheets having an unclouded and uniform cholesteric liquid crystal layer immobilized thereon relatively regardless of the chemical species of the cholesteric liquid crystals. These optical sheets have a structure wherein a cholesteric liquid crystal layer consisting of liquid crystals immobilized by a crosslinking reaction is formed on a substrate, characterized in that the cholesteric liquid crystal layer comprises a monodomain structure obtained by reacting a steroid with a liquid crystal composition containing reactive liquid crystals.
