Abstract:
An optical switch (50) is provided with: a subtractor (21) which calculates a difference between light intensities at times when the optical switch (50) is on and off, respectively, and thereby generates sampling data; a low-pass filter (23) which removes, from the sampling data, high-frequency components having frequencies exceeding a first frequency, and thereby precludes an operation performed at a speed higher by a predetermined speed than a speed at which the normal operation is performed; a high-pass filter (25) which removes, from the sampling data, low-frequency components having frequencies not greater than a second frequency, and thereby precludes an operation performed at a speed lower by a predetermined speed than the speed at which the normal operation is performed, the second frequency being lower by a predetermined range than the first frequency; and a comparator (27) which compares the remaining sampling data with a preset comparison reference voltage (S), and determines, when the remaining sampling data is greater than the comparison reference voltage (S), that there is an operation, and, when the remaining sampling data is not greater than the comparison reference voltage (S), that there is no operation.
