Title:
OPTICAL SYSTEM, AND DYNAMIC WAVELENGTH BANDWIDTH ALLOCATION METHOD FOR OPTICAL SYSTEM
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2014/115429
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a wavelength switching method capable of suppressing increases in burstability and the transmission delay of uplink signals, i.e. capable of minimising the increases in an allocation cycle, if dynamic wavelength bandwidth allocation using a fixed cycle in a multiple request mode, or the like, is implemented with respect to a variable wavelength WDM/TDM-PON. In the present invention, a dynamic wavelength allocation cycle is separated from a DBA cycle. In the DBA cycle, an ONU demands bandwidth for an uplink signal, accordingly an OLT calculates and stipulates the time and transmission continuation period for sending the uplink signal, and in accordance with said stipulation, the uplink signal is transmitted by the ONU. In the dynamic wavelength allocation cycle, the OLT stipulates that wavelength switching is to be performed, and the ONU switches the wavelength such that the affiliation of the ONU is changed to a different LC. Furthermore, while said ONU is switching the wavelength, the DBA cycle can be implemented multiple times in an ONU which is not switching the wavelength, and after the wavelength switching, the wavelength switching is confirmed, and thereafter a DBA operation is performed at the post-switching wavelength.
