Abstract:
The present invention provides an optical system that includes therein an intermediate focal position MI conjugate to both the enlargement conjugate point on an enlargement side and the reduction conjugate point on a reduction side, said optical system being provided with an enlargement optical system Op having A (A is an integer that is three or greater) lens elements and located on the enlargement side from the intermediate focal position MI, and a relay optical system Ol having B (B is an integer that is two or greater) lens elements and located on the reduction side from the intermediate focal position MI. A first lens group G1 consisting of b (b is 1 or greater but less than B) lens elements and located at a first position from the enlargement side in the relay optical system Ol has a negative power.
