Abstract:
This optical system is provided with multiple lenses. Each of the multiple lenses has a refractive index distribution that changes along a direction perpendicular to an optical axis. The optical axes of the multiple lenses are arranged on the same straight line. The multiple lenses are manufactured on the basis of the same design value with regard to the axial refractive index and refractive index distribution constant. When a reference rotation position around the optical axis is defined for each lens as the position that maximizes the total amount of aberrations of the multiple lenses, any one of the multiple lenses is arranged at a position that is rotated around the optical axis relative to the reference rotation position.
