Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a pluggable optical transceiver which detects the input of a signal from an external device and autonomously initiates execution of a control sequence. [Solution] A pluggable optical transceiver is configured to comprise an electrical signal input means 1, an amplification means 2, a modulation means 2, an optical signal output means 4, and a control means 5. An electrical signal is input into the electrical signal input means 1 from an external device via a connector. The amplification means 2 amplifies the electrical signal that is inputted from the external device, and outputs the electrical signal as a driving signal for when optical modulation is performed. The modulation means 3 modulates, on the basis of the driving signal, and then outputs light that is inputted from a light source. The optical signal output means 4 is connected to an optical fiber which outputs the optical signal modulated by the modulation means. The control means 5 monitors the amplitude of the driving signal output by the amplification means 2, and when the control means 5 has detected that the amplitude of the driving signal has exceeded a reference value that was set in advance, said control means 5 executes a control sequence for at least one of the amplification means 2 and the modulation means 3.
