Abstract:
An optical transceiver module based on PAM4 modulation comprises an optical emitting unit (12) and an optical receiving unit (13), wherein the optical emitting unit (12) includes a DSP processor chip encoding unit (121), a driver chip (122), a laser (123) and a DSP processor chip encoding unit (121) connected to two NRZ electrical signals of a first electrical interface unit (11) to modulate the two NRZ electrical signals into one PAM4 electrical signal which is converted into a PAM4 optical signal by amplification of the driver chip (122) and the laser (123) and transmitted through a first optical interface unit (14); the optical receiving unit (13) comprises an optical receiver (132) and a DSP processor chip decoding unit (131); a second optical interface unit (15) receives the PAM4 optical signal and converts it into an electrical signal to go into the DSP processor chip decoding unit (131) which demodulates the PAM4 optical signal into two NRZ electrical signals, and connects with the first electrical interface unit (11). Thus, bandwidth requirements of a high-speed communication system for an optical device and the number of optical devices are reduced, thereby saving costs.
