Abstract:
It is intended to provide a method for producing a compound useful as a production
intermediate of a pharmaceutical represented by the following general formula
(I): (I) ((R)n represents the same or different halogen atoms in number
of (n) present at a substitutable position of the benzene ring; n represents an
integer of 0 to 4; R1 represents a hydrogen atom or a protecting group
for an amino group; the carbon atom marked with *1 is a carbon atom with
either S-configuration or R-configuration), comprising the step of subjecting
a corresponding oxo compound to asymmetric hydrogenation using as an asymmetric
catalyst, a rhodium complex having a pyrrolidinebisphosphine compound as a
ligand.
